The one-off festivals thin out, the heat settles in for its long shift, and what is left standing is the weekly circuit that never needed a marketing budget to draw a crowd. I have watched plenty of summers do exactly this, in more cities than I care to list. The good ones run on rhythm: a Saturday market that opens early, a night market that carries itself, a Monday anchor that has never once missed. That is this week. No spectacle, no corporate fluff. Just the circuit, running the way it always has. Here is how to run it.

🌾 LAKE EOLA FARMERS’ MARKET, THE SUNDAY INSTITUTION
When: Sunday, July 26, 10 AM to 3 PM
Where: Lake Eola Park, E. Central Blvd & N. Eola Drive, Downtown Orlando

Thirty-seven years. That is how long this market has anchored downtown’s Sunday, which by Orlando standards makes it a genuine institution rather than a marketing claim. Fifty-plus vendors, a wine and beer garden that understands its role, live music that asks nothing of you. The first ninety minutes belong to the locals: quieter, cooler, dogs trading intel under the oaks. By early afternoon it becomes a louder, more social show. Both versions are legitimate. Pick the one that matches your energy budget.
Bring the dog. Water bowls turn up, the shade is real, and the lakeside path adds a bonus lap if anyone still has legs left. Parking runs about five dollars at the surrounding lots, which buys you certainty, a commodity downtown rarely hands out. If you want the quiet version, arrive at 10 sharp and be gone by 11:30. You will have seen the best of it, and the dogs you meet early are the serious ones anyway.

The quiet lane: Fri Jul 24, Art After Dark at 6 PM sharp, browse before the dinner crowd lands, home by nine with no apologies. Sat Jul 25, Winter Park Farmers’ Market right at open, out by 9:30, and that is a complete day. Sun Jul 26, Maitland Farmers’ Market at 1776 Independence Lane, 9 AM to 1 PM (Dog ✅). Shadier, saner, my standing alternate route for the Sundays when Lake Eola feels like a glitch in the simulation.
Your Monday anchor (Jul 27): Audubon Park Community Market, 5 to 8 PM, Stardust Video & Coffee lot, E. Winter Park Rd (Dog ✅). The pet vendors carry the good stuff, meaning treats worth sitting, staying, and selling my soul for. Eighteen issues in and it is still not on the tourist lists. Keep it that way.

🐕 TPD NIGHT MARKET, THE WEEKEND OPENER

Where: TPD Circle, Thornton Park, Downtown Orlando
Cost: FREE
The weekly ritual that makes Thornton Park worth the parking gymnastics. Local makers, vintage vendors, food trucks, and DJs who understand that volume is a skill, not a personality.
Thursday is the fuller night. Friday runs the same setup with more breathing room if crowds are not your currency. Nothing here requires you to be on, which is the entire architecture of a good night market.
Dogs welcome and genuinely accounted for, not just tolerated. Bring cash for the vendors who have not surrendered to the card reader, and accept now that you will leave with a candle you did not plan to buy.

🌾 WINTER PARK FARMERS’ MARKET, THE SATURDAY STANDARD
When: Sat Jul 25, 8 AM to 1 PM
Where: Central Park West Meadow, New York Ave & Morse Blvd, Winter Park
Cost: FREE
The vendors on the Hannibal Square end have been here long enough to remember when this street looked different. The ones worth talking to usually have.
Thirty-plus vendors in Central Park’s West Meadow. Produce people who grew what they are selling, bakers who will know your order by August, and coffee that beats whatever you were going to make at home.
Secure your perimeter before 8:30 AM or prepare to walk from an entirely different neighborhood. The parking has been unresolved for years. They know. They have made peace with it. I respect the honesty.
Leashed dogs welcome. The oak shade holds until about 11, which is exactly when you should be leaving anyway.

🎨 ART AFTER DARK, LAKE NONA FRIDAY
When: Fri Jul 24, 6 to 10 PM
Where: Lake Nona Town Center, under The Beacon
Cost: Free
Forty-plus local makers set up under The Beacon: paintings, jewelry, photography, and the kind of browsing that rewards a slow lap before you commit to anything. Free garage parking, which is a phrase I do not get to write often enough to waste.
This is the introvert’s opener. You can see all of it, buy one thing, and be home by nine without apologizing to anyone. Dogs on leash welcome, and the wide walkways mean nobody is stepping on anybody’s tail.
If Thursday at Thornton Park takes your whole battery, this is the gentler reset. Same weekend, opposite frequency.
Set your own pace out there. That is the entire point of a Friday.

🐕 MARKETS + YOUR MONDAY ANCHOR
The circuit holds its shape in late July. Winter Park Farmers’ Market every Saturday, 8 AM to 1 PM. The vendors have been at this longer than most restaurants survive, and it shows.
The Sunday split: Lake Eola from 10 AM to 3 PM for the chaos, or the Maitland Farmers’ Market at 1776 Independence Lane, 9 AM to 1 PM, for your sanity. Both dog friendly, both worth knowing, and only one of them will make you fight for parking.
Your Monday anchor: Audubon Park Community Market every single Monday from 5 to 8 PM in the Stardust Video & Coffee parking lot on E. Winter Park Rd. Dog friendly, immaculate vibes, and the pet vendors carry the absolute good stuff, meaning treats worth sitting, staying, and selling my soul for.
Eighteen issues in and this one still has not been ruined by the vacation shirt crowd. Let us keep it between us.
The Friday option: DeLand Farmers & Makers Market every Friday 6 to 9 PM at Artisan Alley, 109 W Indiana Ave, DeLand. Completely free, dog friendly, and about 35 minutes north of your usual routine.
It has a completely different energy than the metro markets and makes for an excellent escape on a slow Friday night.
